It was indeed nice to meet up with some of my long lost swimming buddied from the days when we were still kiddos and taking competition seriously!!

Hey but i must say i was very happy to see teams from big companies taking part!! MAS, Brandix, John Keels, HSBC and Sri Lankan mainly. Its nice to know that these companies are giving a good place for sports as well!! I suppose there would’ve been around a hundred competitiors all-together! And mind you there were a couple of SAF medallists as well!!

The competition was in three categories – novices, championships and veterens. Veterans being over 50!! And yet there were several aunts and uncles swimming!!

I was told that it is infact after 3o years that the Mercantile Swimming Championships is being held!! This time for the Presidents Challenge trophy which was infact to be awarded by the first lady herself!! This i found out after the hassle of trying to get inside the pool premises with all body checking and stuff Well anyways this is Sri Lanka huh and somethings never change!!

Right now i’m just killing my time here at Mag City waiting for my car service to be completed!! Glad they have a computer with a net connection here in the customer lounge Though the keyboard sux!!

Well anyways the last 8 months have infact been very eventfull for me in all aspects! I did my 3rd MBBS Part II exam in March, and started my final year proffesorial unit training at Colombo South (Kalubowila) hospital in Aug.

I went for the world university games in Bangkok also in Aug. Swam with the world record holder of my event, the 50m breast stroke!! Whew!! The guy was from Ukrain and had established the world record in 2002!! Standards of swimming are very low in Sri Lanka, so i guess i need not comment on where he and i stood in the competition!! :)

And at RNHIT we have now opened up into a whole new dimension of solutions in Rich Internet Applications (RIA)!! Just last month we completed and handed over the first phase of a comprehensive Training Booking System for an European client. RIA’s with Adobe Flex / Coldfusion and also Adobe AIR and the other new technologies that are virtually taking the web by its horns are still a rarerity among the Sri Lankan developer community. So having very successfully opened out into this area we are now making great inroads into the outsource market of these technologies!!

Bloggin is the revolution that took over the internet couple of years back and i’ve been wanting to start my own ever since, but i just didnt have time – my common excuse for everythin that falls behind me

But honestly it is true, cos i juggle with so many things that time actually has become a issue  for me. But i guess i’m learning time management hands on, head first!! Depressing at times though but i love the challenge.

Well anyways, back to my joining the blog revolution -> i wanted to install wordpress on my own domain and start but, as it was that, that kept my entrance to blogging for so long as it is easily a couple of hours work to sit down and upload wordpress, configure it, customize and set it up for my requirements, i decided what the heck, i will at least start off with the hosted wordpress. Afterall its only a matter of exporting and importing into my own installation oneday when i do have it setup huh..

And well, here i am!! Less than SEVEN weeks away from my all important end of year exam and i’m happily blogging away!!

So i’ll be posting frequently on anything and everything that’ll rouse my curiosity. Hope u enjoy and visit back frequestly to check for updates..
